Virtual Tour of Israel

Take the virtual tour of Israel, designed by the nation of Israel. Then take the quiz at the end and see how much you have learned. Can you detect any bias in the website or quiz?

so I bombed the quiz. I didn't read the site as well as I should have. I got like five pages in and got a little worried about how long the site was. When I couldn't find the end of the tour I eventually gave up and went to the quiz. So if I had continued reading maybe I would have done better. The site was really interesting though.

ya kinda on the same page as Emma here...the site was interesting, but long...and i have a short attention span right now. i totally realized the Israeli angle on it though!

So that quiz is not going to be printed off my computer and stuck on my fridge, but it was interesting to see the Israeli point of view on the website.

ok so there were so many different sites that i'm not sure i went to all of them and i did really bad on the quiz. No need to mention the exact score, but it was really bad.

So I actually did halfway legit on the quiz...although I seemed to guess on most of them. I found the site really interesting but very long. Also, the Israeli angle was very interesting. I was so proud of myself for recoginzing the fact that it was pro Israel....a few weeks ago I could NEVER have done that.

The site was interesting and cleared some things up for me. On the quiz, i did not do so well, but i did not fail. There was bias on the website, but it was also filled with facts so it didnt throw me off too much.

definitely an isreali/jewish point of view. 52% on the quiz (did you honestly think anyone would reeeally read all those pages? ha)but yeah im a little upset i didnt know about his blog--i must not have been paying attention the day you mentioned it. hm.

umm i did ok on the quiz...i did learn a tad from the tour. Still, the bias was pretty apparent. but whatever. its israel.

first of all, on the shopping tips it told me to "not expect a better deal from Jews than Arabs". Now, that SOUNDS like it is trying to dispel a bias, but really it sounds like the site expected me to believe Arabs were cheap

second, telling me about the history a little bit, the website says of the UN partition: "While the Jews accepted the decision, the Arabs did not". REALLY?! ya think?

third, i got 44% right. that was longer than the book we have to read

I didn't do so well on the quiz overall, but I did remember the significance of 1492 to Columbus and the Jews in Spain. However I did find it helpful that some of the key words were linked to the Jewish virtual library website, which helped to clarify their meaning. (I also would agree that there is a slight isreali/jewish bias)

they definitely had some good information on this website, and i think you would learn a lot if you took the time to read through all of it. I basically bombed the quizz but i guess i kinda expected that. It was definitely more bias towards the israeli point of view.

I also bombed the quiz. I did well on the beginning questions, but I guess towards the end of the reading I started skimming. Maybe if I went back I would do better. But it was totally Israeli biased.

quiz was not so good, but there was good information. Not sure if I agree with it all, but it was good.

I shot myself in my left foot after taking the quiz. Only took it once though, so I'm not too sure how well I could've done. Other than that, there were a few points that interested me. Just a few though points though, the rest of it was kind of "blah"
